On the 20th July 2018, Birmingham Airport Limited submitted a full planning application to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council in relation to a terminal infill extension, involving the development of just over 10,000 square metres of new floor area. The proposed development is needed in order to improve our passenger services and includes new retail, food and beverage, toilet and baggage areas. The proposal would be situated between the existing short pier and main terminal. The application is currently being determined by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and is likely to be determined by the end of October 2018.
